I suppose you should use this to center the knife to center the slot and try to align the bevel of the knife blade with the side. Then move the sensor perpendicular to the knife and see if the other side matches. This isn't where you should just slide the knife into the slot and see if it fits. The problem is that it's actually difficult to pick up a bezel with a sharp blade when the grinding width is only about a millimeter. You must break out a magnifying glass and have very strong hands. I cannot confirm the accuracy of the angles. because it was just difficult to use.
