You can also buy a Cat 5 or 6 cable

I have never bought anything over Cat 6 as I recently bought a Cat 8 cable from two different manufacturers. When it seemed to me that my speed was slower with this Cat 8 cable, I decided to test it. When the initial test confirmed my intuition, I decided to try a more rigorous test. For the record, I'm paying for 1GB of internet speed, so I was expecting to be limited to that. I compared my WiFi speed as well as Cat 5e, Cat 6 and two different brands of Cat 8. For the test, I plugged each cable into the same port on the router provided by my ISP. I tested each cable six times in two. days and eliminated the lowest recorded speed for each of them. Download results… this Cat 8 cable was the slowest, with results even slower than Cat 5e by 10.5%. The download results were even worse. This Cat 8 cable was the slowest, even 13.4% slower than Cat 5e. Speeds between Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 8 from another manufacturer. I tried to help this brand's cable to show the best results but it didn't help.
