Review on GearMo USB Serial Adapter - RS232 DB-9 920K with FTDI Chip, TX/RX LED - Compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10 by Dusty Wonsley

The RX/TX lights are incredibly useful and inspire confidence. When I open a port and start sending data, it gives me confidence it's going where I see fit. Being based on the FTDI chip line, it is very reliable and the cross-platform driver support is excellent. I wish there was a variant that had all the serial status indicators punched out, but with a short cable. Unfortunately, I had to get another option with a cable that was a full meter longer than I wanted. As far as I know this is a real USB to RS232 adapter.
