A camera system for a waterfowl sanctuary, not quite finished yet. A week and getting closer.

We bought this system for our animal shelter. The system is truly plug and play and all cameras and devices appear to be working properly. At the moment I'm impressed by the fact that the first camera we installed at our waterbird sanctuary is sending a good signal to our bedroom on the second floor of our home. The distance between the wall and the window is about 300 feet. Unfortunately, this is about as it seems. The Dreamliner feature doesn't seem to help installing other cameras alongside the first one in the hideout. In fact, I'm starting to wonder if the Dreamliner feature works at all. I figured that as long as I had a signal to one camera I could line the second camera up with the first and still get the signal, but that doesn't seem to work at all. . I'm guessing we'll need to buy a signal repeater to ensure signal coverage throughout the stash, but I have no idea how to set it up. I'll update this review as we get more familiar with the system and see if we get the full coverage we need. So here is the first update. The xmarO team contacted us very quickly with some additional information (I really appreciate the responsive customer support for our product preview) and I was right, the Dreamliner feature wasn't working. This is because the Dreamliner feature is NOT a plug and play feature and must be configured manually. However, the setup is simple and once I got it up and running it was clear that it worked well enough to significantly increase the range of the system. There are no instructions or guides in the system, you have to go to the website. The instructions on the website are easy to follow. The system is very picky about obstacles, and I think to help with that they include two antennas with cables about five feet long that can be screwed into the back of the camera in place of a fixed antenna. This allows you to place the antenna in the best position to access the NVR and any camera you wish to connect to the Dreamliner feature. These antennas are key to being able to tune the system effectively. Unfortunately, the two extension antennas don't have mounting screws (they only have a quarter-size flat base) and I'm not exactly sure if they're weatherproof. I asked her for more information. If they are indeed weatherproof, I just need to find a way to mount them in a few key spots and the system should really take off. If not then this would be a real problem and I would have to look for a similar extension antenna to use with the system. We've emailed some additional questions to the xmartO team and look forward to continuing the optimization work. systems. Another important point to keep in mind is that the transformers you need to connect to power the cameras are horizontal and therefore cannot effectively plug into standard single outdoor outlets with protective covers. To do this I need to install new additional outlets that can accommodate a horizontal transformer and still have a cover to provide adequate weather protection. I will continue to update this review next week as we continue to tweak the system.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • All right
