Completely standard product, nothing remarkable.

That is, the “hole” in Tamron is formally f2.8, but either this is the design of the lenses, or the lens is too contrasty (its pattern is much more contrast than that of the Sigma), the output image is darker than the standard one at f2.8. That is, in fact we have not f2.8, but somewhere f3.2-3.5.
Surprise awaited me when I contacted the Tamron office in Hong Kong. When I asked what converters this lens works with, they answered, theoretically, “that it should work with 2x and 1,4x” (I don’t quote the words verbatim, but the meaning is exactly that - that is, in the office itself they don’t know which converters their lens works and answers in theory).
So 2x converter is beyond him - only 1.4x

Pros

Focusing speed, price, 5 year warranty.

Cons

Aperture is not 2.8, contacts with the camera are periodically buggy and autofocus fails - you need to unscrew the lens and snap it back in. This lens does not have the declared 2,8. I used to use Nikkor and Sigma at work. Both 70-200 2.8, set the same parameters under the same conditions. As soon as I started using Tamron, I should set the shutter speed to a stop longer (instead of 200 I put 160), only in this case the picture is similar in lightness to the previous glasses. More: The Sigma 2x teleconverter, which successfully worked on Nikkor and Sigma, refused to work at all on Tamron: it does not focus. He lacks light - he does not receive f2.8 from the lens. I put the Sigma 1.4x converter - it works great! And as you know, a 1.4x converter needs a minimum aperture of f4 to work.
