Why oh why are Toyota/Lexus door lock motors so prone to failure? Year after year they built these door lock drives with what is probably the worst 12 volt electric motor in the world. Doorknob like a pig looks at a clock. I thought my fate was sealed when this fool was forced to crawl through the back seat to get into his "luxury sports sedan." I shudder to think of my co-workers laughing at my inability to do mundane tasks like getting in my damn car on a lunchtime outing. Little kids will no doubt point and giggle indifferently when I pass by because they know I have to fight my way to my own car. Many times I have had to ask forgiveness for swearing that children, teachers and ministers were witnesses. I sacrificed my dignity and embraced my new life as a poor man's safecracker instead of paying the dealer $400 every time one of those doorknobs failed. Alas, the answer to my prayers is a hero in a small package, an item that relieves me of insult and embarrassment while satisfying my sense of frugality and practicality. This is the perfect replacement for the 2014 Lexus GS350 F Sport Door Lock Motor. No modifications were required, the spindle has a perfect shape and length. The actuator is easy to remove, although you'll have to twist and turn until you find the right angle to completely remove and then reinstall it. I recommend finding a UToob video to remove and reinstall the door panel for your specific vehicle. You might even get lucky and find a handyman to repair your drive. My driver's side front wheel drive only took 2 bolts to remove, after which I was able to split the fairing wide enough to replace the motor. I didn't have to completely disassemble the drive to do this. Time will tell if these engines will last or if they will return me to my former state of misery. For now, however, they work well, are relatively easy to install, and are a very inexpensive alternative to a costly and all too common problem.
