Quadcopter Training

I have several different brands. My favorite is the Exceed Walkera V2. It's the same as the Walkera Ladybird V2 except it has a spicier lantern. The two I mentioned are gearless and pump smaller propellers, and I should note that they are slightly smaller. On the other hand, the V929 is larger and more visible in flight. The important thing about all three is that they can be hit hard. I expected to break a few props and haven't broken yet. If you want to learn how to fly a quadcopter, any of them will do. It is important that after connecting the battery, you place it on a flat surface until it is calibrated. I intend to install an FPV system on the V929 as it should be able to handle the extra weight more easily and be physically larger so mounting the gear shouldn't be that difficult. If a child is flying the aircraft, they must be supervised and should be made aware of the potential dangers. The worst scenario I can imagine is punching a child in the eye. LIPO batteries are really tiny, but they store a lot of energy when charged. I've been flying electric for over 30 years and up until yesterday I've never had a battery fire. I was inserting a small single cell pack into the body of one of my quads when the wires shorted out and started a fire. I pulled it outside and let it burn which meant all the plastic casing was gone. They also produce a lot of smoke. I would recommend the V929, if only for the reason that the battery has a plastic end cap and fits into the battery holder with relative ease, which is probably a more secure battery than you'll find on other quadcopters. When comparing quadcopters to helicopters, I find that quadcopters are generally easier to fly because the yaw rate is lower. If, like me, you've been flying model airplanes for a while, you may find it difficult at first, but the learning curve is quite steep. I'm hoping to build some quads this year and flying these little ones has given me more incentive.
