Review on πŸ“Ί Streamlined Samsung WMN1000B Ultra Slim Wall Mount: An Effortless Solution for Mounting TVs by Bethany Baker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not really for me on TV and video

Based on the reviews I decided to buy this mount for my Samsung UN55C6300. I was concerned because I have HDMI, a center speaker, and an outlet right where the TV would hang. This mount is advertised as mounting a thin Samsung LED directly to the wall. When I saw that the kit included standoffs to move it slightly away from the wall for use with a European cable plug I thought it was fine. But I have three problems with this mounting solution.1. It's expensive for what it is. You must be joking! 2. When I fitted the longer screws (not the standard shorter screws) for the mounting standoffs and hung the TV on the cable, I quickly noticed that the two screws on each end of the cable were BENT under stress! I took the TV out and checked if the screws weren't bent, but no, it looks like the brackets inside the TV are bent! The two upper handles at the ends of the cable are badly bent! I don't think the kit will fit, but I'm wondering what they used in the kit as a receiver for those screws. And yes, everything I used was included in this mounting solution.3. For drywall, it's best to screw at least one of the two wall knobs into the rack, and I followed that recommendation. However, this resulted in the TV not being able to be centered where I wanted. To do it again I would not buy this mount. For my purposes, a rail mount would be the best option. I would have room behind the TV to connect cables, and most track mounts allow you to slide the TV to one side or the other for more placement flexibility. If you want to hang your thin TV right on the wall (I mean right on it), this mount is probably what you need. My TV is in a very large room with a large wall, so it wouldn't matter if the TV was two inches from the wall. That way I at least have easier access to the back of the TV like I did with my previous LCD TV. Also, I'd find it a lot easier to breathe if the mount was really secure (a rail mount usually allows more than one screw to go into a stud).
