Great for soldering and repairing SMDs

I'm a big fan of this station at around $80. It's just as functional as many of the stations I've used in college labs, and the price is affordable enough for many people to get a very good station and kit for a low price. This soldering station is very good for its price. All components appear to be tightly connected and there is no play in the case. I don't like that the heat gun is firmly attached to the station and the soldering iron can be removed, but that's where my complaints end. The station works great, heats up quickly and responds to changes very quickly. The handle is nice and easy to use. Nothing about the station is confusing, especially if you've used one of these before, so it's great. The solder that came with it was good and I found the tips didn't corrode after several months of use. This is a great base station for lots of hobby work and more. That and an accessory kit with an upgraded pump and iron cleaning wire would be a nice setup. I have no problem with the power consumption or the fact that the heat gun does not cool down. After using the heat gun I can hear the fans working fine trying to cool the unit down. I feel safe working with and using this station and I know it can handle the repairs I do which usually includes hobbyist keyboard work, microcontroller projects, motherboard work etc.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
