Review on πŸ”ͺ BeaverCraft Sloyd Knife C4 - 3.14" Wood Carving Sloyd Knife for Whittling and Roughing - Ideal for Beginners and Professionals - High Carbon Steel Blade - Spoon Carving Tools - Thin Wood Working Whittling Knife by Amanda Castillo

It's a $12 knife, but it still shouldn't have a crack.

Edited to add that the seller replaced the item with reasonable satisfaction. They immediately sent a new knife after seeing mine cracked. I read reviews that said they received knives with rust. When I received mine I examined it carefully. What I noticed is that it is sharp, the handle feels comfortable, and the shank is slightly twisted in the knife. A slight twist was not enough to affect the carving. After a week of carving softwood (pine), I noticed that a crack was forming on the cutting edge. The knife didn't fall and I cut soft wood. I no longer feel comfortable with a knife, especially since I wanted to cut semi-hard woods (cherry and oak). Before this knife I liked it. It was great for quickly "sawing" large pieces of wood. I also bought a parts knife, sling, and tote bag from Beaver Craft and they were amazing. However, this knife let me down. Having bought some beaver craft items I would like to know what to do with this knife.

Pros
  • Carbon Steel Wood Carving Blades: The razor is made of carbon steel and hardened to the required strength. Our wood carving tools are sharpened and polished so you can use them right away.
