I am new to quilting and would like to try free motion quilting. I figured a guide like this would help me develop muscle memory for design flow. And for the most part it worked. I would draw the pattern onto my real quilt with a heat washable pen and then topstitch along the line. After a while I was able to fill in some gaps (like corners) without drawing. My only complaint is that the product arrived bent, even after months of trying to straighten it. it still has a twist.
