In spring I ordered 500 daffodil bulbs for fall delivery and then forgot. They arrived last weekend and I knew I had to plant them in the ground before the weather turned bad. The first weekend I tried one of these manual flower bulb planters. My soil has a lot of roots and rocks and broke after about 50 bulbs. Incidentally, attaching these 50 pieces took about an hour and caused me blisters. Then I tried my post hole digger - it was better but I was still working hard and was VERY slow. That's why I invested in this tool. The day it arrived I was coming home from work and still had some daylight, so I took it outside to try it out. WOW! I put it in the ground. He fully entered. I repeated this with three more holes, then turned it upside down and these perfect earth plugs literally slid out. It really worked. This weekend I installed the other 450 bulbs in under an hour. No blisters. No pain. This item is AMAZING! It's probably one of the most useful tools I've ever bought for any given job (and I've bought a lot of tools!). If you have a large number of bulbs to plant, buy them. You will not regret it.
