First, I disagree with reviewers who say this mirror looks concave or that the clearances are very different from older mirrors. This mirror (on the passenger side for me) looks the same and has the same "objects in the mirror appear closer". Tag string as original. I believe this line is meant to start on the passenger side only, so maybe that's part of the confusion for some people. As for installation, toss the instructions in the trash and follow these: #1 Get a chair cushion and put it under a mirror (or workspace) in case you drop a new one during installation. #2 Roll down the window on this side of the car (this gives you some freedom of movement). #3 Take the keys and use the mirror motor to raise the mirror as high as possible (so that the bottom part sticks out a bit). #4 Take the new one out of the box and look at it. The part you need to remove looks the same as the new one so now you know where to put the screwdriver (note mine had a white base on the motor mount that says). #5 Using a medium-sized screwdriver, carefully insert it into the ground between the white base and the underside of the transom plate you need to remove (it's black), and gently pry outwards until it pops out. #6 My old mirror had two small wires attached (think mirror heater). If you have any, unplug them. Now there were two small circles on my new mirror and it looked like I could try pulling the heating wire mechanisms out of the old mirror and fitting them into the new one, but I decided to skip this as it looked like I had to I do open the new one, so I just took two wires and stuck them back into the mirror housing assembly and there was no more defrosting on that side) up/down (that would be like a low tilt). Just in case, make sure you have your patio cushion in place. Now with the top of that white mounting plate sticking out, snap the top of the mirror into place first and then once you feel it is ok (there shouldn't be much side to side play and it will line up with the wing mirror) . . case), let the lower part snap into place by pressing firmly. It took me a few tries and one day I almost dropped it (hence my patio cushion suggestion below). #8 Take a cloth and wipe fingerprints off a new mirror. #9 Buy yourself something nice with all the money you saved on repairs at a car dealership.
