They work, but not forever!

These cables are long and work as they should with no lag. They integrate seamlessly with our universal GameCube controllers and directly into the Wii system. However, we've only had it a few months and the end of the cable that connects it to the controller is already worn out and the wires are bare. Of course they still work, but for how long? I take very good care of my belongings and I'm surprised that happened.
