Review on ๐Ÿ“ฆ Aitoh FLCKFC Origami Paper: Premium 200-Sheet Pack, 5.875-Feet x 5.875-Inch by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It seems to me that everything is Vasi.

To my knowledge, Washi is closer to classifying the type of paper based on its ingredients, production method and possibly region. Because of this, there can be multiple types of washi with different textures and weights, much like two types of beer can still be called beers despite their different tastes. The texture of the entire paper seems to match the texture of other origami washi papers I've used and they stack up the same, so I'd hazard a guess and say that Aito had two slightly different types of paper. Vasya is there. The papers are packaged in a resealable plastic envelope with a paper liner and a piece of cardboard in the middle to keep everything sealed. With these types of bags, it's best to have a folder or box handy if you plan on carrying paper around. When the paper supply runs out, the packaging no longer holds the paper as tightly and it begins to shift and wrinkle very easily. About half of the pack consists of a white based washi with 5 different designs. The other half is brown based washi with 4 designs but 3 colors for each design. I've added photos so people can see the design more clearly. All papers are very thin and appear to be perfect squares. They wrinkle a lot and hold up very well. The white paper is slightly translucent, and the patterned side is smooth and matte, making it almost waxy (in a good way). The brown paper set is still very thin but not as clear anymore. If you hold it up to the light you can see the plant fibers and the texture is more like regular paper. I absolutely love the drawings on both sides and I certainly have my favourites. The white side usually has many colors that flow into each other. The brown side usually only has one or two colors, but when I hold the sheets up to a table lamp, the ink looks almost metallic. You can call me weird for that, but I like little old books, it's very nostalgic for me. So while I was at it, I decided to take a quick taster. I prefer the brown page as it reminds me more of an "old book". Overall, this is a good buy and I definitely think it's one of the best deals on washi paper I've come across. I end up buying Aitoh brand origami paper as it seems to be the most popular in my area and therefore has the widest selection - and I'm fine with that. At least Aitoh seems like a decent brand. However, the price on Amazon is way better than other prices I can find (about $5 for a pack of 30 washi sheets at my local stores. uh uh).
