While Nintendo has yet to make a breakthrough in the modern HD market, they are at least making steps in the right direction. The cable works well, the clarity and sharpness of the picture have noticeably increased. However, I had to do a bit of work myself to set up and use this product. The problem was that you had to manually switch from 480i to 480p in the Wii menu; The console will not automatically switch from one to the other just by changing the cable. The problem is that you can't do the switching with a composite cable, you have to use a component. So if you need to toggle it manually. When you start the console with the component cable for the first time, there is no image on the screen. I've caught myself switching between cables trying to remember the manual switching process, not an easy task I assure you, especially with motion-sensitive controls. After about 20 minutes of blindly pointing and clicking, I finally managed to switch. As already mentioned, the difference is clearly noticeable. Hopefully I'm one of the few that have had this problem and wouldn't be surprised to know that there is an obvious workaround that I somehow missed. On the other hand. quite a design flaw if everyone is like that.
