Review on 📁 Efficient NeatDesk Plus: Desktop Scanner + Digital Filing System for PC by Terry Napoleon

I have been using this scanner regularly for over 6 years. Since the purchase I had to go through at least 3 software updates. Two years ago I actually had to PAY for this upgrade. Just this week Neat rolled out another software update and it cost me $150 for a yearly subscription. After installation, the device lost the best elements of its original functionality. It no longer recognizes a PDF document. I am told that to do this I need to "send" the document to the cloud. This means an additional step if the document is to be saved on a local drive. No time for that! Second, the quality is very low. The document looks like it is an image and not a PDF document. The background is gray and doesn't look as clean as if you were looking at a scanned page. If the document arrived folded, the final scan will show creases and shadows. Today I buy another brand. As long as it's neat. You are NOT so neat anymore!
