Review on Hakka Sausage Stuffer Stainless Vertical by Rachel Martinez

Great Sausage Filler

We used to make sausage with our KitchenAid mix. It works, but it's not ideal. The mixture is high, so we put the plate on top of the bowl so the sausage doesn't dangle too much. To make matters worse, the mixing bowl is so small that you have to keep adding more sausage mixture and keep it airtight. Like I said, it works, but it's also kind of a pain. Anyone who has ever made sausage stuffed with KitchenAid will know exactly what I'm talking about. Let's get to this fountain pen. MY GOD. When it comes to sausage production, it's like day and night. First I put all 10 pounds in the tube at once. Download and done. Not a permanent addition. We put the shell on the tube (it's easier if it's wet), twist it and make a sausage. There is nothing easier. Being able to load 10 pounds at once has tremendous benefits. I once made potato sausage with KitchenAid, which is rather gooey at first but takes MUCH longer to serve in the blender by the end, gets hot and, oh what a mess. In the end I only got half. Using Hakka filler, our first attempt, we made 10 pounds of chicken/cherry/blue cheese sausage and it couldn't be much easier. We were a bit rusty so it took a while to get back to working with shells, but it didn't take long to get the rhythm going and it couldn't have worked better. The 11 pound rig is HUGE. I knew it was going to be big, but it surprised me. But we can do little or much. As we often make £10 at a time this is the perfect size. After using it several times, I'm sure we'll be making sausage quickly and easily. Also, there are so many different funnels. You can do almost any look and size with it. This device is sturdy and well built. For the most part, it's really easy to clean. It is very easy to take apart and wash. The ONLY noticeable negative I have is that I don't see any way to remove the plunger part so you can clean it. I ended up straddling the unit over the sink to wash that part. Not critical and not worth deducting a star. Maybe someone can tell me how to remove this strip if possible. It wasn't that much to assemble, not that many parts. There weren't many instructions, they could be improved. Great advice on stuffing, be careful when you let go of the handle and almost smack me in the face a few times. Just for your information. I am very happy with this purchase, will buy again without hesitation. Although I doubt I will have to replace this device in my lifetime. If you make a decent batch of sausage and make it with something like a KitchenAid blender, do yourself a BIG favor and get it. You'll be so glad you did.
