Review on πŸ”Œ BOSS Audio Systems KIT2 8 Gauge Amplifier Installation Wiring Kit - Enhances Power Delivery to Radio, Subwoofers, and Speakers for Effective Car Amplifier Connection by Trevor Garrett

Poor quality car electronics accessory

Pros: Cables were long enough for my double cab with the battery on the left and the subwoofer on the right under the back seat, and enough cable if I wanted to move it to the back of the seat. Cons: Me dropped the fuse holder 2 feet and the bracket broke. There is a waterproof grommet where the cable enters the fuse holder, but it is too large for the size of the cable and leaves a gap for water to enter. There is a hex screw in the fuse holder to tighten the cable's bare wire, but when I did that it crushed the strands of wire and many of them fell out. It would be bad news if all the strands were broken and the hot side of the cable fell out and shorted out! If you use it I would pour over the strands first so they don't fall apart. I ended up using the 10ga fuse holder I had on hand and soldering the connections. The included zip ties are so tiny they won't hold 22ga wire, let alone 8ga wire. It came with a 6 foot split wire loom which wasn't enough and was flimsy. The insulation on the cable was good, like it was silicone, but it wasn't because it melted when exposed to heat. Stripping the connectors was also difficult, but the wire strippers I had with me were only suitable for 10ga stranded or 8ga solid wire. The crimp connectors that came with the kit seemed too big for the 8ga cable. The RCA cables were quite long but seemed small but work fine. There are no detailed instructions, it would be nice to include the size of the grommets and the size of the hole to be drilled etc, but I think it's not too difficult to understand. I do not recommend this. I think I would buy a roll of wire and the necessary items separately.
