This device is simple to install and configure. I didn't need this, however savvy people can make several accounts and define access permissions for them. If, like me, you only require a network drive for data storage with shared access, then you will receive everything you need right out of the box (assuming no one has canceled the login and password, of course). All that is left to do is map the network drive using specific apps and install the OS, which happens automatically the first time you connect. What personally hurt my perception: The length of the cords initially bothered me (power and LAN). Although the UPS was at the bottom of the wall, where I wanted the box to be, the power wire could not be extended from that location. So, I set the box down next to the UPS, but there isn't enough LAN cable now that the server is where I had initially planned to put it because my router is located at the very top of the wall. Thankfully, I located a vintage cord that was half a meter longer. Second, it just so happened that the outer cover, which was meant to be secured with two screws, had appropriate holes for this but no threads. It needed to be sliced by a strong twist. One screw's head lost its shape during the operation. There was, however, a spare in the kit. Finally, the kit does not come with setup instructions for the server. This is the first time I've seen it, and I was really disappointed. But fortunately, it's simple to locate this instructions online. Fourth, the transfer of files happens quite slowly. The device's Software informed me that the speed is capped at 10 Mbps even before I could turn it on. In my search for a solution, I discovered that although many people lament this, there is no known fix (and whether it is possible at all). Or perhaps I just couldn't locate it. This is not too bothersome when working with little single files. But it took almost a whole day when I chose to transfer my mother's library of Korean television series. In spite of the jambs mentioned above, I am generally very happy with the purchase.
