Review on πŸ–₯️ YGG Portable Monitor Y133Q01 - HD IPS 2560X1600 13.3" External Display by Jamal Martinez

Great portable second monitor - but what's your use case? Photo? Portable games?

This is a great additional portable monitor. It has a good big screen, bright enough and with a wide viewing angle. It has a binder-style case, and while it's a bit fiddly to use, the binder has a kickstand configuration that works. It comes with an HDMI to mini HDMI adapter and a USB-C converter. But how will you use it? In my case I got it as a second monitor for working with photos. I'm a top amateur wildlife photographer. I'm often not at home, but I have time to edit photos. I have a 13" laptop with a 4K touchscreen which is great for retouching photos, but when using it with a stylus I can't see past my hand and therefore can't see what I'm doing. I bought this second screen because it's very portable - I can just throw it in the same bag as my computer - low power consumption, big and bright. I would have preferred it to be 4K too but it's perfect for my work when my hand covers my laptop screen. But that's me and probably not you as it's not a very common use case. As I thought about how others might use this, it occurred to me that this would be best used as a portable screen for a gaming console. If you (or rather your child) want to take your game console to Grandma's, this turns your game console into a portable system that you can take anywhere. All of this assumes, of course, that your games console has an HDMI video output (but most released in the last decade) and you have access to the power the console needs, but those aren't high standards. The downside to using this monitor as a gaming monitor is that it only supports HD resolution (1920 x 1800) and its refresh rate (60Hz) is lower than many TVs. So if you're playing a first-person shooter, it might not work out that well. But what's worse - playing poorly or not playing at all?
