Bought them a while ago but never got around to installing them. Finally, on Monday, I installed them in my daughter's Avalon. Tuesday night I wanted to lift the hood and couldn't. One of those new hood lifters kept the hood from going up. After a few minutes of hard work, I finally opened the hood just enough to loosen the struts. One seems to work fine. The second gets stuck when folded. I tried but I couldn't pull the rod out of the cylinder. It tumbled right out of the box. I know that maybe I just have a blemish. But the bad thing is that you can't open the hood, which is pretty bad. If I wasn't a big guy with some upper body strength, I wouldn't be able to lift the hood far enough to dislodge the broken hood brace.
