Bought as an intermediate option until we can completely redo the kitchen in about 5 years. Cheaper than the cheapest option in the hardware store and looks much better.1. Clean the surface. I used a $7 replacement teaspoon from a hardware store. The replacement does not require rinsing and dries quickly.2. Get everything off the shelves. I also removed the ventilation grille. Remove all electrical covers.3. Measure twice, cut once. The T-square becomes your friend. If you can, draw a line with chalk (I didn't manage it).4. Take your time. The better you fit, the better it will look. If you enlarge my photos you will see what could be better from my side.5. Make sure the surface is clean. This material is thin. I didn't notice until I placed the piece on the line drawn with the marker. When I placed the next layer, I covered it with a thin piece of backing.6. You can trim the mortar lines where they overlap to clean up the installation. This gives a little more room for error.7. Save the cuts/cuts. I used them to fill in a few errors. Saves by spending the whole square.8. We bought 10 straight away. Wanted to make sure we liked it and put the install on hold so I can take my time. In the end my wife is very happy, the kitchen looks nicer and that should keep our joy until we can do the work in the kitchen. Goodbye!
