Review on πŸ”’ YIYITOOLS 10 Inch Locking Pliers - Original Design for Enhanced SEO by James Salem

The lock only engages with a firm grip

The whole point of a clamp pliers, sometimes called a vise, is to lock the pliers in the closed position. YiYiTools locking pliers cannot handle this simplest task. The pliers stay securely locked if you hold them in the absolute maximum position where the jaws actually touch. If you open the jaws, the lock will start to break more easily. A good 1/8 inch of pressure was enough, and at less than 1/2 inch, a simple finger press on the top would pop the whole thing open. This thing even came open when I just put it on the table and accidentally bumped my wrist while typing. Yes, a few words of choice were said. You can get around this lack of locking problem by opening the jaws further than necessary, clamping, and then hand-tightening, but the springs began to make a stress noise that was disconcerting to me when I did. Path. It's a shame because the body of this tool actually seems pretty solid, but the spring is the thinnest I've seen on this type of tool. There are also wire cutters in the kit which, although not very well, work. Rather than being a blade, the lower half has a somewhat pointed triangle forged that meets a flat surface in the upper half. It splits the wire more forcefully than it cuts it, but technically it gets the job done and most people would have a better tool for it anyway. "Locking" pliers don't actually lock, and on several occasions when I forced them not to open on the slightest impact, the spring caused audible tension. I can't in good conscience give more than one star.

Pros
  • The classic trigger offers maximum locking force
Cons
  • Doubtful
