Doctor issued splint and ace wrap did not limit my mobility as much as this does to allow my fractured wrist to heal. It also left me uncomfortably bound by the ace wrap and "itching" to remove it whenever possible. Also limited my finger use and grip as the issued brace extended most of the way to my finger tips.This brace, however, is more supportive, comfortable, well ventilated, and with the included ice/heat pad, it encourages me to use the ice therapy as prescribed in a comfortable way. I sometimes forget I even had the ice pad on until has become thawed and warm although I'm sure it's has done it's work by then. A VERY effective brace and would recommend for wrist injuries.
