Not really a black or gas pipe.
Tees, elbows and mounting brackets are made from cast or heavy gauge tubing and all uprights and long bars are made from multi-coated rolled metal. In fact, enamel paint can be thicker than the metal itself. When it's on top, it's pretty stable. The only part of this kit that is cheaper than the bars are the bolts. They include a hand screwdriver as any action of the drill will snap off the heads. (I pre-drilled and adjusted to 2x8 would probably be fine in plastic anchors)
