I don't know how big the difference is, but there is a difference.
I'm not sure how long they will last and I can't tell you they will trap ALL the odors in your home but they will help. I really don't like the (crazy) smell of cooked food in the house after dinner has been cooked and cleaned. These will help. I don't know if they're like carbon that absorbs until it can't anymore, but they seem to do the job better in the first month - I've been using them for 2 months. These are good filters and I will buy them again.
