Quality gone by Delta

When we were building a custom new kitchen in 2001, I asked the crew to install a Delta faucet with a small curved spout and a pop-up showerhead. This crane stood until 2018. That was a GOOD faucet! I couldn't find the same Delta design so I settled on Moen which looked similar. Lasted 2 months and broke. Your $125 plastic is going down the drain. Then I bought another Moen, a slightly different design, thinking I had a lemon. It lasted about three months and more, leaking, bad seals, the case didn't hold tight and twisted in all places. So I figured I just have to go back to Delta because the faucet we had was so good for so long that things like this should really work! I have read and searched a lot. The design was really different with these big goosenecks. I didn't want anything fancy, just stainless steel for kitchen appliances. So I ordered this Delta faucet. Bad choose. Worse than any 2-3 month old moens I've had. It installs fairly easily, but may require some tweaking in this area. I'm 66 years old and have installed faucets, toilets and plumbing in general many times, so I know what to expect and how things "should or could" work better. I'm also an English professor, so let's put aside any thoughts I don't know what I'm talking about, just to get this straight. This is the WORST DELTA OR FAN I have ever known, at our house or anyone else's! Nowhere in the description does it say it was a low pressure valve. The faucet takes a lot of water -- and time -- just to heat up, and then there's this twisted two-strand trickle. I'm not joking. This cartridge squeaks almost all the time, sometimes very loudly, like a trapped pig. The temperature cannot even be regulated and maintained at a certain heating level - either everything is hot, or everything is cold, and nothing in between. Metal outside but not all parts inside. Plastic parts ARE a problem in many plumbing fixtures. it comes out I will never buy Moen or Delta again. I'm looking at a German crane. What company can continue to produce cheap goods and expect to have a loyal customer? All of these cartridges should be ceramic and metal with good quality rubber o-rings, nothing plastic. Much luck!
