Review on Organize Your Kitchen Knives And Utensils With Navaris Wood Magnetic Knife Block - Double Sided Magnetic Holder In Walnut Wood by Darin Grosz

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Appears good on surface, but some problems underneath

It looks just as advertised, and the sizes are all correct. The magnets seems fairly strong - I tested a small 5" utility knife and couldn't peel it directly off the board easily. However, the magnets seem to be focused on the top of the board, which can cause some 'pendulum' issues with knives without supporting magnets near the middle of the board. A picture with the magnet locations would have been nice to have on the store page. The product description states a non-slip base made of rubber pads, but it's not particularly non-slip - the padding looks like some sort of cheap foam rubber. The board's center of gravity is pretty high as well, likely due to the magnets on the top and the light base on the bottom. Even without any extra knife weight, it's pretty easy to wobble it, which is definitely not ideal. I would have much preferred a thick, heavy base instead for greater stability.Unfortunately, because of the balance and the slipping issues I'll have to return this board and look for another one.
