Previously ordered one of these, the previous one is a bit thicker, but it is a coconut shell. Coconut shells are not made in a factory, so of course there will be variations. Humans are not made in a factory and we have variations too. It is important that the hole is large enough for my budgies to be able to get in and out unhindered. The second part is that my parrots will use it. Mission accomplished on both sides. I also noticed that they don't try to chew it like other items.
