This was the device I was looking for when installing a waterproof surge arrester. It is not. I was looking out the window at my pond after the rain and smoke was coming out of my junction box which I use to protect the surge protectors. It wasn't even particularly wet, but smoke was coming out from under the tread. It continued to smoke for a few minutes after being unplugged. None of my pumps appear to have been damaged, only the protective case, so it may have actually protected my products, but the unit literally burned out. I will look for another backup.
