I used to buy replacement cartridges and never had a problem. I never paid attention to the brand either. The rest worked fine. I put in the green box cartridges and had problems with light lines or no lines at all. At first they were random problems, but then they started to recur. The colors were terrible and I couldn't print any more pictures. I bought a new computer and while my computer technician was setting everything up, I told him about the problems with the printer. He said to buy genuine Canon cartridges and see if that solves the problems. Well it worked! So not all replacement devices will have this problem, but it's like Russian roulette when you get a box that does. Greenbox might work well on other computers, but I wouldn't recommend using it on a TR 8520.
