Before buying Garmin I only used a wired computer for front wheel speed and distance and my iPhone with Strava to log GPS data. I've been using Strava for several years now, any updates should ensure continuity. Knowing that the first release of the latest line of Garmin computers is Bluetooth capable and we are running Garmin Connect, I figured Strava and Connect compatibility would only be a matter of time. Thanks to Garmin and Strava for finding common ground. . History is key to making data valuable, and starting over would be painful. Current updates allow Garmin to automatically sync with Strava - completely legally. The device comes with everything: an HR monitor, a cadence/speed sensor and numerous mounting options. I'm not sure I'll use a cable, but it's better to give me more than I need, not too little. Installation was easy and quick. The only recommendation would be to install a magnet with aerodynamic spokes for the sensor. I have some fairly wide Mavic spokes that didn't fit me, but I just repurposed my existing computer magnet - they're pretty versatile. The usability is excellent. Lots of 100% customizable screen layouts that are relatively easy to access while driving. I've read a lot about screen visibility issues, but when driving at dusk I didn't encounter any major problems - note, however, that I opted for the backlight. Nice feature for those who like evening/night trips (well, who grew into it after recently moving to the city). I recommend this to anyone upgrading a non-GPS computer, and would definitely recommend looking into Garmin Connect's capabilities (if you're not already using MMR or Strava).
