Review on TMS CART CANOE KAYAK KY001 Carrier Trolley by Rich Montgomery

Great kayak cart at an incredible price!

This kayak cart is AWESOME! We recently bought several kayaks for the family as we live on a lake. I have back problems so lifting or carrying the kayak is not possible. I was looking for fishing rod holders for my kayak when I came across this cart. I read the reviews which seem mixed and decided to give it a try as it has helped so many. Of course, tires smell like tires. I don't know why so many people complain about the smell. These people never had to put tires on their cars because the smell is the smell of new tires. I have mine outside and will store them in our garage once the smell has dissipated. The only thing you need to do before using it is to put on the tires. It took less than 2 minutes - just inserting a cotter pin into the hole isn't difficult at all. I agree with others that the strap is useless. We tried it first, and after a few minutes on a stable surface, it slipped. I used a ratchet strap and bungee and had no problems. We use it with our 10ft kayak which has a relatively flat bottom and is perfect. Update: I've been using this cart on multiple kayak trips for over a week. . We have about a 1/4 mile wooded rugged trail that we follow to our trailhead behind our house. This kayak cart has been a lifesaver for me. As long as you attach it securely, it works great without slipping. I make sure to wrap our ratchet strap around the "V" point and then attach it to the cart with a couple of elastic straps for added security. I am going up and down a very steep slope and the kayak has never fallen off the cart. We will be ordering more for my husband and baby kayak.
