Review on πŸ’ ToeHook - The Game-Changing Hook for Hockey Goaltender Leg Pads by Mario Bullard

Works well, durability is poor

My son, a 13 year old bantam goalie, prefers these hooks to laces. They're quicker to put on and he likes the way his pads feel as they rise and fall from the fly. The footpads sit a little higher off the ice than they do with the laces, but that doesn't bother him. However, durability is an issue and a kit of spares will be needed for playtime. In less than a season, the tie broke (the velcro broke very soon after), the elastic seemed worn enough to tear, and we lost the bolt on the third session (I used Loctite on the threads to fix this). impede). The hook attachment point on the footpad is covered in foam, so I suspect the screw's torque decreases and loosens as the pads move. be ready to be proactively replaced in 2-3 months (or during the game - if it only takes 1-2 minutes to prepare).

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
