Review on 🔧 Optimized Fuel Filter: Mr. Funnel AF3CB by David Thornton

I was delighted to get this filter in the mail today as I have a 5 gallon can of ethanol mixed gasoline that contained water and some dirt. I took a filter, a can of gasoline and some clear glass bottles to collect the filtered gasoline. I continue to quickly pour gasoline through the filter into bottles to visually see the result after the filter. I didn't let the gas rise more than half the length of the filter elements. I then poured what was left in the filter into another clean, clear glass container. On the plus side, it filters fairly quickly—almost as fast as I could pour it out of my 5-gallon gas tank. This was a pleasant surprise as other reviews seemed to suggest otherwise. It had no trouble filtering debris, and the first 4 or so gallons of gas I caught in the catch bottles was crystal clear. The fuel I poured out of the filter after I was done showed that some water was actually filtered out of the gasoline along with dirt. cloudy. I let this container sit for about 5 minutes and about 25ml of the water-like substance settled out, leaving clean gasoline on top. Obviously something other than gasoline went through the filter. Why did I give three stars and not one? I'm not sure if it was a good test. One of the horrors of ethanol flavored gasoline is that ethanol absorbs water. This water-ethanol mixture precipitates out of the gasoline because the ethanol-water mixture is heavier (denser) than pure gasoline. Water and gasoline don't mix. The water will settle if this is possible. The funnel caught about 75% of the water/ethanol in my fuel. If I had watered it slowly he probably would have caught more. Would he have caught all the water if it was pure water and not a mixture of ethanol and water? I do not know. So I can't give it five stars, but I can't fully rate it either.
