If you need strength I would go with epoxy. I've never had a situation where it didn't work. Caution: once it has hardened, it can only be removed with a file, sandpaper or knife. Remove excess epoxy with a paper towel and nail polish thinner. If the materials to be bonded allow it, I bake the bond in the oven for a few minutes at around 200Β°C. As an experiment, I connected small pieces of aluminum rod and wrought iron and suggested to my twin grandchildren that we undo the connection - they worked on it, but it held tight.
