These do a pretty good job blocking light even though they don't have a rubbery backing. I have blinds too and I can see a bit through them but not nearly as much as the curtains which I had before. I feel very good for the price.A con is that there is no pleating to them. When I got them I didnt' have an ironing board so there are wrinkles and I can't make them "pleated".
