Review on Tespo Playpen Exercise Animals Upgrade by Sandra Getchu

I have been looking for a larger cage for my son's guinea pig for several months without success. I came up with the idea of using these pens as a permanent open cage and was skeptical at first. However, to my surprise, this was exactly what I needed. I plan on sewing a lot more of my own floor for this once I have the final design and plan on ending up with a two story structure. as well as zip ties, pads and a small mallet. I bought 2 sets (2 boxes) Good - *Panels are similar to any small animal cage *Most panels were well welded and painted. (I had broken welds in 1 panel out of 24 but that's not a problem) * It's great for guinea pigs or small animals. * It's fairly easy to assemble but be careful as if you are too rough I imagine the welds might break. It's best to be as careful as possible, but I've generally had no trouble putting the pieces together and I haven't broken anything in the process. * Endless design possibilities. * The ability to use a 12 or 15 inch size is great. * When everything is put together in pen form, it is very durable and suitable for small animals. With that said, those who bought this for dogs or larger animals have to say what were you thinking? The product lists the plate sizes and I logically think this is for small animals and not puppies. Bad-* 1 of 24 I bought had broken welds. But the welds were in the middle of the plate and that didn't bother me. Most of them went in fine, but there were a few that didn't go in all the way and I had to use pliers to squeeze them together (stay close to the clamp). * The included mallet is not heavy enough to work properly. *The way the horizontal panels are aligned when trying to create a second floor forces you to use zip ties as the clips cannot accommodate the panels from all sides. (understandable, but still a disadvantage). Overall I love the product, the guinea pig has been in it since I got the panels and he loves it, we keep his cage door open 24/7. He didn't run away or anything. In fact my 4 year old son can sit in the paddock with his pet which made our guinea pig friendlier too. It's also worth noting that my son banged on the panels, knocking them out and stumbling all over his body. Nothing has fallen apart or broken, the ties have never been used. Product is as advertised, medium strength, looks like a standard small animal cage, holds together well, again I didn't use zip ties. only for now. Although I haven't finished my final design yet. In the end I'm satisfied and I definitely recommend it, at least for the purpose I used it for, especially for the price.
