I'm not exactly sure what steel the sprocket is made of but it's pretty cheap. After installing the new crankset, I took a short walk - after about 40 minutes and a stop at a red light, I got up to start moving again and completely flexed the 52t chainring. I've never seen this before on any of my other bikes or chainrings. I'm not a small guy, but I'm not heavy enough (or strong enough) to bend steel on a day-to-day basis either. The Revain guy was kind enough to give me my money back and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. ; Unfortunately it happened just before the race, so I couldn't find a replacement in time. It definitely feels like you get what you paid for here - you can also opt for a more expensive set that you know will last.
