I wrapped this 60ft tape around 3/4 PVC. It is outside in an open metal building. The pipe is a drinking line for the chicks (including automatic drinking). Our temperature has dropped to 4 degrees and the water in the tap is fine. I wrapped the pipe in styrofoam wrap and then taped it all the way around. Unfortunately, chickens have broken through this isolation in some areas. The heating tape also prevents the water from freezing. Very happy with this product.
