If you have 6.0 you MUST use Motorcraft filters in your truck! Do a YouTube search and you'll see why, from the guys who make these trucks for a living. I tried to find the exact answer on the internet about the size of the slot for the top and bottom filter caps as I knew I wasn't the right size. . I have 24mm at the top and 36mm at the bottom. You can also buy special sockets for this job. Both are easy to replace but the bottom can is a little dirty. I put the pan down and did my best to wrap a garbage bag around the bottom of the fuel pump to keep the diesel inside. Anyway, making your own costs $45 for the filter and $16 for the sockets. I paid $160 for this job at Ford and my local diesel engine shop. Will order again in 10k.
