Review on 🔥 Dorman 973-409 HVAC Blower Motor Resistor Kit: High-Performance Upgrade for Cadillac, Chevrolet & GMC Models by Jeff Sorensen

This was installed on a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x2 Extended Cab. Fits like a baby glove! Solved my problem at all (first two fan speeds didn't work); the other three were not very strong). Now all speeds work and higher speeds are POWERFUL. Been up for a few months now and still works great. Accessing the area isn't a problem, but getting the screws back in place isn't that easy. Removing the cover from the fan assembly took about five minutes. Replacing the resistor kit took about three minutes to disconnect the old one, install it and connect the new one. It took over an hour and a piece of cellophane tape to install the final screw holding the lid in place. Of course, the entire fan unit is installed at the factory as one unit under the dashboard - pre-assembled. So it's a real hassle to put it back together when it's already under the dash. However, this does not affect the resistance rate! Good value for money. Saving over $350 compared to quoting an independent shop for the installation.
