I have repaired broken mounting bolts so many times I didn't have enough metal to screw in stock Yamaha brackets. So I removed the front of the case, drilled new holes in the metal bar and then put a bolt through the bottom of the bar, put on a washer and nut to tighten the bolt to the bar. I then drilled new holes in the canopy support rod (aluminum). I threaded the nut and washer about halfway onto the new bolts, slipped the lightweight support bar over the bolts, and then installed the washer and nut onto the bolt. I was then able to gently turn the two nuts to hold the dome support beam securely. Much stronger than Yamaha screws.
