Review on Kumho Road Venture M/T KL71 245/80 R15 104Q all season by Ognian Asenov ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn³'t expect the quality to be this good.

Mounted with Patriot tires measuring 285/75 R16. Good rubber for cyclists that log lots of miles but never learned to jeep head before the days of Simeks, boggers, and fbels. This is undesirable for an expeditionary because of how rapidly it will become useless. At most, a few years or seasons. It's important to remember that it has a specific direction of travel, therefore a regular spare wheel won't work. The next set of tires I buy won't be as cheap as this set, but they'll be the tried-and-true Cooper CTT. It rides worse, but it lasts longer on expeditions.

Pros
  • The sidewall is soft and relatively sturdy, and may be etched up to 1 without damage if you use your head. Superior to Goodrich MT and Cooper STT on clay soils when it comes to self-cleaning. Good at breaking away from the pack. Almost silent at speeds of 110 mph or more on asphalt.
Cons
  • However, it was designed for dirt, so if you plan on doing more than 70 percent of your driving on pavement, you're better off with a Cooper or Goodrich, which will wear more slowly and provide better handling on asphalt.
