Review on Sony HT-S350 Soundbar: 2.1ch Speaker System with Wireless Subwoofer - Home Theater Surround Sound for TV - Bluetooth and HDMI Arc Compatible - Black by Mkanand Anand ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is really good, I'm glad I purchased it.

In general, the impressions are rather positive. I bought it to output sound from the projector, mainly for watching movies and TV - the soundbar copes with this task. But as for the music, here I am rather disappointed. So it was not possible to find the optimal mode in which I would like the sound. In most modes, the sound is muffled, vocals and guitars are hard to hear. You can more or less listen in the Voice mode with additional manual subwoofer volume control, but still the desired result was not achieved: apparently, the speakers in the soundbar itself are too small. In short, Sony's 1997 antediluvian music center sounds much better.

Pros
  • + Good sound for the money (in 2022, 200 bucks is already a penny) + Decent bass: tight, not boomy or boomy + Mids and highs are relatively normal only in Voice mode + Enough to watch movies and TV + stable bluetooth + Quality materials and assembly. Nothing rattles or rattles + It wakes up by itself when the source is turned on, no need to separately turn it on with the remote control
Cons
  • - Incomprehensible indication of 3 LEDs: you constantly have to look in the instructions for what combination means. Could at least make a small b / w display. - It's still not very suitable for music (at least for rock and classics, it may be suitable for pop and rap, the main thing is that the basses pile on). There is a frequency imbalance, but there is no normal equalizer, only different fixed modes. - It is not enough to create surround sound in a room of 16 sq. M. Loud - yes, voluminous - no. - It cuts itself out after some time after switching to silent mode. Woke my wife up at night when the sound suddenly started yelling on the projector when the soundbar turned off.
