Like many people who store gas, I have used these cheap plastic containers for years and have never felt safe in them. You may have heard stories that because they don't have spark arrestors in their spouts, they can break under pressure or even explode. And plastic IS porous, so it can evaporate into the atmosphere over time. Read forum comments on later CARB-approved doses. It appears to have all the necessary components for a safe gas bottle, as well as being a strong and reliable container. They are designed to seal and prevent vapor loss and be safely released in a fire rather than bursting under the pressure of expanding vapors and fuels. Yes, the cost of this model is three times the price of a plastic bottle, but at what price? Are you going for security? When calculating the cost of restoring a home or unfortunately a life, the decision was easy for me. They are designed to last for many years and the company offers replacement parts if needed. In practice, a metal can adds extra weight when lifted. Small people, pay attention when choosing larger glasses. But on the bright side, it delivers gas to my lawnmower and generator with no spills (although you can see a few drips coming out of the spout). Now when I drive into the garage I no longer smell exhaust fumes with these sealed cans. The build quality, materials and finish appear to be superb. I can recommend the product unreservedly.
