Bought on my sister-in-law's recommendation, we will be using it mainly for peeling mashed potatoes. Therefore, it needs to process less than a perfectly cylindrical potato. I've tested it on totally unbalanced red skin potatoes and it cleans them perfectly. The hand holding the blade applies enough pressure to accommodate changes in potato diameter. Additional blades are stored in the base. It will be fun . often includes shepherd's pie.
