I think I have a broken one, I had to restart it every few hours on the internet was active all day and flashing dd-wrt didn't help. So I sent it back and got a NETGEAR AC1450-100NAR Dual Band Slim Gigabit Smart WiFi Router (Certified Refurbished) and I flashed it with NETGEAR AC1750 (R6300) router firmware, which is the same router with better firmware to run it on NETGEAR AC1750 upgrade ( R6300) and it was the best router I have ever owned. So if you can afford the $75 price tag and have the technical knowledge to follow the guild ratings on the Netgear AC1450-100NAR Dual Band Slim Gigabit Smart WiFi Router (Certified Refurbished) page, I recommend buying this one instead router because it is faster. , has much more powerful hardware and longer range. Here are the test results I got with the TRENDnet AC1200 when transferring a file between a computer wirelessly connected to a router in the N-5GHz band (NOT AC, the only AC device I have , is my mobile phone) and the computer that is connected to the router. ---Write--- ---Read---Packet Length: 500,000,000 500,000,000 Execution Time: 49.4807359 28.4343568 Bytes per second: 10 104 943 17 584 361 Bits per second: 80 839 544 --- 8-8- 8- 8-8 - Mbps: 80.8395440 140.6748880 Here are the test results I got using a NETGEAR AC1450-100NAR with NETGEAR AC1750 (R6300) firmware while transferring a file between a computer running wireless with a router in the 5GHz N range (NOT AC, the only AC device I have is my cell phone) and a computer connected to the router. ---Write--- ---Read---Packet Length: 500,000,000 500,000,000 Execution Time: 35.6760503 22.9475239 bytes per second: 14.015.004 21.788.843 Bps: 112.120.0-4-4--- 7 Mbps : 0030.2 174.3107440 Just for comparison, here are the results of the same test I ran on TRENDnet's AC750 router, which I tried before --- Write --- --- Read --- Packet Length: 500,000. 000,500 000,000 Time to End: 99.9510449 65.7744130 Bytes per second: 5,002,449 7,601,740 Bits per second: 40,019,592 60,813,920 -------------- affect the results . Technically, all of these routers should have achieved roughly the same results in the benchmark test, as they should all surpass 5 GHz speeds and go into the AC range. However, the benchmark shows that hardware performance makes a significant difference between the three routers. It's also fast enough for most uses, it even worked well to stream Full HD video games from my gaming PC to my laptop over WiFi, but I've seen a big improvement in game streaming with the Netgear AC1450 . If it worked without a reboot after a few hours, I'd probably keep it.
