These are pretty decent calipers but they definitely have some flaws. The good parts are they feel pretty solid, have a smooth ride, and measure fairly accurately compared to a high-end pair that's accurately calibrated. The not-so-big issues are that while the shaft may be stainless steel, the casing around the electrics certainly isn't. It's plastic painted to look like metal and I've had issues with those plastic calipers in the past, particularly around the battery cover. Also, the dipsticks have worn off the numbers on many of the blades and the entire set of gauges is FLOATING in oil - it will ruin your hands and anything you can use it for, but it also worries me that they may rust together if they are not soaked in oil. . Overall, it's not a bad tool, but there are other calipers made of better materials, even solid metal ones, that cost under $27 at the time of this review.
